Pamela Anderson had a special date to see The Naked Gun for the first time: her costar Liam Neeson!
Dropping by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, July 30, the actress said she has only screened the movie “once” thus far, “with Liam, in an empty theater.”
“It’s hard to watch yourself, even [for] Liam,” said Anderson, 58. “It’s hard to be objective, I guess, but you play it straight. Otherwise it wouldn’t be funny.”
A source told PEOPLE on Tuesday, July 29, that the Last Showgirl star and the Taken actor, 73, are “in the early stages” of dating in their “budding romance,” which started on the set of The Naked Gun.

“It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other,” the insider added.
Neeson and Anderson are “enjoying each other’s company,” added the source, as the costars promote their new comedy, a reboot of the 1988 film of the same name starring Leslie Nielsen.
In The Naked Gun, Neeson plays Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Nielsen’s Frank Drebin from the original Naked Gun films. The Baywatch alum plays his love interest, Beth.

Neeson and Anderson have been fueling romance speculation for weeks as they’ve stepped out on the press run for their summer comedy, including posing on the carpet together with their children from previous relationships.
In mid-July, the pair got into character on the red carpet at the movie’s London premiere, when Anderson planted a kiss on Neeson’s cheek.

One week later, the costars further stoked the flames by pretending to passionately make out when the cameras cut to them to tease their Today show segment, mimicking be caught off guard once they broke apart — and they then continued to play coy about their relationship status.
“Oh my goodness, nothing is sacred,” Anderson teased to co-host Craig Melvin.
Melvin, 46, then asked the pair directly, “What’s the deal here? You’re both single right now. There’s clearly chemistry. Are you two an item?”
Anderson replied, “What?! I don’t understand the question,” while Neeson shook his head, adding, “Craig, Craig.”
The Naked Gun is in theaters Friday, Aug. 1.
