Deion Sanders and Karrueche Tran are sparking dating rumors after the model was seen by the coach’s bedside as he underwent bladder removal surgery.
Tran, 37, appears in the first part of a video series documenting 57-year-old Sanders’ recovery from bladder cancer, called “For Your Glory,” produced by his son Deion Sanders Jr.’s company Well Off Media. The Colorado Buffaloes coach revealed his cancer for the first time on Monday, July 28.
Appearing multiple times throughout the emotional 18-minute video, the model and actress struggled to speak through her tears while explaining why Sanders was in the hospital. “We are dealing with bladder cancer,” Tran said after pausing for a moment to cry before the former NFL star was taken into the operating room.
“He is having his bladder removed and they will create a new bladder with one of his intestines,” she explained to viewers.
Tran said having his bladder removed in surgery was “the best” option for Sanders, “because it fully removes the cancer to ensure it doesn’t come back, because it was close to his muscle.”

After Sanders’ surgery, Tran appeared relieved, smiling and chatting with hospital staff as she declined an offer for ice water.
As her rumored beau shared that he feels “numb” and emotionless after the operation, Tran asked questions about when his results will be in and whether or not doctors are expecting to find something concerning in his testing. When she was told that Sanders’ form of cancer was “very aggressive,” Tran asked more about when he’d be coming in for a follow-up.
In another clip from the video, Tran is seeing holding Sanders’ hand as he is wheeled through the hospital halls by nurses following the procedure.
PEOPLE has reached out to reps for Sanders and Tran for comment.
Tran previously dated Chris Brown in an on-and-off relationship from 2011 to 2015, and has been linked to Rob Kardashian.
In 2023, Sanders was engaged to Tracey Edmonds before the couple called it quits that December in a joint statement. “We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together,” the former couple wrote at the time.

Sanders revealed Monday he has been dealing with bladder cancer after months of speculation about his ongoing health issues. In a press conference, Sanders appeared alongside his doctor, who said the head coach has been “cured” of the disease.
“I am pleased to report that the results from the surgeries are that he is cured from the cancer,” Dr. Janet Kukreja, the director of urological oncology at University of Colorado Cancer Center told members of the media.
“When we hear that word, it’s usually a life sentence attached to it,” Sanders said of his cancer diagnosis during an emotional point of the press conference. “But not this time. Not this time, because God got me.”
