Anne Hathaway Dressed Up Baggy Sweatpants with a Denim Shirt

Just call Anne Hathaway and me twins. 

We both dance along to Sabrina Carpenter’s catchy bop “Manchild” in our free time, and apparently, we wear some of the same things, too. Over the weekend, the actress learned the moves to the TikTok-viral dance in a pair of ultra-comfy sweatpants, which is pretty much the only thing I wear at home. 

Unlike me, though, she actually made them look cute with her oversized denim shirt jacket, which she later shed to reveal a basic white tank top underneath.

Rather than opt for a matching set or something more low-key like a college sweatshirt (which her The Devil Wears Prada character wore before her makeover), Hathaway’s denim shirt dresses up her loungewear outfit in a way that feels intentional. It’s still cozy-looking, though, thanks to its oversized silhouette, much like this half-off Gap option, and could be a hero piece for fall à la Reese Witherspoon and Martha Stewart.

These Alo Yoga sweats are a bit of a splurge, but they’re worth it. I first tried them because Katie Holmes couldn’t stop wearing them — and it didn’t take long to learn why. They feel like you’re kicking it in pajama pants all day, and I find that the hidden drawstrings make them look less sloppy. 

I didn’t get a clear view of Hathaway’s pants, but if I had to guess, they were a jogger cut based on the way the rest of the pants were sitting. These are cuffed at the bottom, and the brand has straight-leg versions, too.

I love tank tops for hot workout classes, watching movies on the couch, and layering under thicker toppers like blazers and sweaters. This is a two-pack, which means each shirt is only $7 apiece, and that’s a good deal for anything, let alone something with over 50,000 five-star ratings at Amazon. The “fabric is also thick enough that it isn’t see-through,” said one shopper.
