New York Mets player Brett Baty is engaged!
On Wednesday, July 16, the third baseman, 25, announced that he’s set to tie the knot with his partner Anna Sprys.
In a joint Instagram post, Baty was seen kneeling down on one knee as he popped the question in a beautiful beach setting at Cape May, New Jersey. Additional photos showed the couple sharing a sweet kiss before taking a stroll on the beach and raising up champagne glasses to celebrate their engagement.
Friends and family also appeared to surprise the pair by joining them at the beach.

In the snaps, the group rushed to greet the newly engaged duo, before embracing the happy couple. They then posed for a group photo with Baty and Sprys in the center.
Baty and his soon-to-be bride closed out the carousel with a shot of just the two of them.
“Forever with my best friend 🤍,” Sprys wrote in the caption.

Former Dodgers player Jimmy Lewis congratulated the couple in the comments, writing, “mom and dad!!! lets gooooo.” Meanwhile, podcast host Katia Lindor added, “Congrats!!! So happy for you guys 🤍.”
The official Instagram for the Syracuse Mets also chimed in, commenting, “SCREAMING! CONGRATULATIONS 🤍.”
Sprys and Baty appear to have been together since at least June 2022. On June 12, 2023, the sportsman appeared to celebrate their first anniversary by sharing a carousel of the pair with the caption, “365❤️.”
