Drake is stepping up his jewelry game yet again!
The “Nokia” rapper, 38, took to Instagram on Monday, July 14, and shared a close up look at the latest addition to his chain collection which paid homage to a ’90s Disney animated film, as well as a late fashion icon.
The video, set against a black backdrop, gave a 360-degree view of his new Cogsworth chain, the animated clock character from Beauty and the Beast.
The glittering piece, created by jewelry designer Alex Moss, is also a nod to late Off-White fashion designer Virgil Abloh, who was a close friend and collaborator of Drakes and had a diamond encrusted custom chain of Lumiere, the candle from Beauty and the Beast. D
Drake’s Cogsworth chain, which he debuted at the 2025 Wireless Festival in London over the weekend of July 11-13, boasts 18-karat rose, yellow and white gold and features nearly 155 carats of pavé set white diamonds with a few special details.
The rapper wanted it made in time for his three-day run at the London festival, Moss tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“This necklace in particular took between two and three months to make, and we really had to go into an overdrive to get it done in time for Wireless. He wanted specifically for Wireless,” Moss tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The design is a life size rendition of the clock in the 1991 movie and additionally featured a mouth made up of black diamonds and Burmese rubies, a functional pendulum that rotates and hand-painted enamel eyes. The rapper paired the chain with an 18 karat gold necklace encrusted with 88 carats of diamonds.

The process of creating the chain was a collaborative one — Drake knew that he wanted the piece as an homage to Abloh, while he and Moss decided on standing position of the clock together, as well as the color scheme.
Moss came up with the other details on his own, namely the clock’s moving pendulum, “the wood, green, and gold texture for the back,” and the “single stone bezels in the hands” for an extra unique touch.

“I keep him very involved just so we both creatively collaborate and it’s not ‘Yo, I need this clock, get it done.’ He’s very hands-on and creative with the process,” Moss adds.
The chain did not make into Drake’s hands until the morning of the festival on July 11. Moss’ brother Jasper personally took a flight with the chain to London and made sure the rapper received it in his hands before hitting the stage later that day.
Though Moss was unable to see Drake’s reaction upon receiving the chain, he did share his reaction to the final product over FaceTime and was moved by how excited the rapper was when seeing the final product.
“It is kind of hard to get someone like him excited, but he was freaking out,” the jeweler recalls. “He kept saying. ‘It was insane. This is insane.’ And kind of just laughing with joy.”
Of their working relationship, Moss says that he and “Hotline Bling” rapper have worked together since “day one,” and have conceptualized several iconic pieces.
“We have a lot of historic pieces from the 42 Engagements chain to the Toronto CN Tower piece we did together, to now a chain like this. And we have so many others in the works that’s going to be revealed soon,” he teases. “Every time it’s so crazy and iconic, because the creative synergy’s there and we work so well together organically. It’s past a working relationship, and I think it reflects in the products. He’s always been a great person, 110% solid.”
Fans in the comments section of Drake’s Instagram post couldn’t resist sharing how impressed they were at the latest addition to his jewelry collection.
“This chain look like it grant wishes and read bedtime stories at the same time,” one fane wrote, while another user added that the “diamonds [are] doing the Toosie Slide,” a reference to Drake’s 2020 hit of the same name.

Alex also posted the chain to his personal Instagram page — the carousel post also featured a photo of Abloh wearing his Lumiere chain with a black anime t-shirt and red hat with the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s logo embroidered to its front.
“There’s Nothing More Precious Than Time – Virgil Abloh @champagnepapi #AMNY,” he captioned the images and videos.
