Lady Gaga has nothing but love and admiration for Doechii.
In a cover story with British Vogue published on Thursday, July 10, the “Abracadabra” artist praised the “Anxiety” hitmaker as “immediately legendary,” months after the rapper presented her with the Innovator Awards at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles.
“You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary,” Gaga, 39, said of Doechii, 26. “That’s Doechii to me.
The “Die with a Smile” singer added that she “fell in love” with the “DENIAL IS A RIVER” artist’s music and “her raw, deeply personal perspective.”

“The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes with this wild mix of audacity and emotional precision – it struck me to the core,” Gaga concluded.
In March, Doechii presented Gaga with the Innovator Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
“Growing up, I was nothing like most of the people I was around and everything about me represented a community of alternative kids that were underrepresented in my environment,” Doechii said while introducing Gaga.

She added, “I was considered weird, but it’s OK, because things worked out. As a kid that identified as an artist, as queer, and as a Little Monster, Lady Gaga wasn’t just a pop star, she was a lifeline. Gaga taught us that it was OK to be our real selves, to try new things, to try anything, to speak out and to create.”

Gaga, who was “deeply touched” by the honor, shared her gratitude for Doechii and dubbed her “an innovator already.”
“I don’t know totally how to think about this because winning an award honoring my entire career at 38 years old is a hard thing to get my head around,” the 14-time Grammy winner said during her speech.
She continued: “On the one hand, I feel like I’ve been doing this forever, and on the other hand, I know I’m just getting started. So even though the world might consider a woman in her late thirties old for a pop star, which is insane, I promise that I’m just getting warmed up.”
