NEED TO KNOW
A lot has changed in Arlen since we last saw Hank, Peggy and Bobby Hill on King of the Hill.
The trailer for the show’s revival dropped online Thursday, July 10, and is chock-full of hilarious moments of Hank (Mike Judge) coming to grips with modern society after returning home to their fictional Texas town.
“World has changed, dad,” Bobby (Pamela Adlon) warns at the beginning of the trailer, setting the stage for what’s to come.

The trailer shows Hank encountering things like video conferencing, gender-inclusive bathrooms and rideshare services.
We see Hank, back in the U.S. after working a propane job in Saudi Arabia, clad in a robe while holding his coffee, on a video call, and he doesn’t seem pleased.
“I don’t know how to kick someone’s ass over Zoom, but I’ll figure it out,” he says.
In another scene, set at a restaurant, Hank is indecisively frozen as he tries to figure out which restroom to use when another patron tells him not to worry, that they’re both all-gender.

“Are we all-gender?” he later asks Peggy (Kathy Najimy) from the safety of the car.
Speaking of cars, Hank and Peggy get dropped off back at their iconic home with all their luggage when their rideshare driver asks for five stars.
“I’m going to give you a four. That way, it gives you something to work towards,” Hank responds, much to the driver’s dismay. “If you ask me, fives should be rare in this world,” Hank tells Peggy.
“We sure are,” she replies. “I do not want to be conceited, but I have been told my whole life I’m a five.”
Elsewhere, Bobby is all grown up. He’s 21 now and is a chef at a restaurant in the not-fictional city of Dallas.
While Bobby appears to have it all together, he’s still Bobby, of course.
“Dang it!” he yells while chasing a rat around in the kitchen.

Bobby is also seen trying to help educate his dad on one of the hip things he’s been missing out on: craft beer.
“Nowadays, beer is fruitier, bolder, more sturdy,” Bobby says, sharing a brew with his dad. Hank isn’t having it, though, and answers, “I’ve been drinking beer for 40 years, and I never wished once that it tasted more like fruit.”
Peggy’s also dealing with her son being a man now, as Hank tells her Bobby wants to bring a girl over for dinner.
“The vegan?” she asks, unimpressed. “What the hell am I supposed to feed her?”
“Can’t we just put some grass in a bowl?” Hank suggests.
Aside from the Hill family, we also see many familiar faces in the trailer.
There’s Hank’s buddies Boomhauer (Judge), Dale (now voiced by Toby Huss after Johnny Hardwick’s 2023 death) and Bill (Stephen Root).
We also see glimpses of Nancy Gribble, Joseph Gribble, Minh Souphanousinphone, Connie Souphanousinphone and John Redcorn, voiced by the late Jonathan Joss, who died in June.
Hulu
Ronny Chieng joins the voice cast as Kahn Souphanousinphone, previously voiced by Huss.
