Barbra Streisand is paying tribute to Paul McCartney for his birthday.
The Hello, Dolly! actress celebrated the fellow musical legend with an Instagram post on Wednesday, June 18, shouting out his special day. Streisand’s heartfelt message also included a reference to a classic Beatles song.
“To Paul… Happy Birthday. Hope you’re celebrating with a little help from your friends… including me. xo Barbra. 🌹,” Streisand, 82, captioned the picture of her and McCartney, 83, posing in the recording studio.
She also shared the photo on her Instagram Stories with the 1967 song “With a Little Help from My Friends” playing alongside it.

Streisand and McCartney teamed up for a song on her upcoming duets album The Secret of Life Partners, Volume Two for a cover of the Beatles legend’s song “My Valentine.” He wrote about their recording session on his website for a May 20 blog post.
“I did the session with her in LA and I was pretty terrified. I think the session was about three hours, you know, a normal kind of session, and it was produced by my friend Peter Asher,” he wrote.
Added McCartney: “But it started off with a big 40-piece orchestra on the Sony lot… and we were on ‘The Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage,’ so no pressure there!”
He released the song in 2011 for his wife Nancy Shevell, whom he married that year. The power ballad was part of his 2012 album, Kisses on the Bottom.
“I thought, ‘Well, this will be easy because it’s my song, it’s ‘My Valentine.’ What can go wrong?’ But what I’d forgotten was that they’d arranged it so that it had to go in Barbra’s key and then in my key,” McCartney continued.
“So, to get from Barbra’s key into mine was kind of difficult, and I had to launch in not knowing what key I was in. Mine was lower, hers was higher. It wasn’t easy at all!” he said.
Despite some nerves, McCartney said the Funny Girl star was “great.”
“I didn’t realize how rounded she is, creatively,” he said.

Streisand, meanwhile, gushed about working with McCartney ahead of releasing “My Valentine” as a single in May. “What a joy it was to record ‘My Valentine’ with @paulmccartney. To share time with him in the studio was truly special!” she wrote on Instagram.
The Secret of Life Partners, Volume Two comes out on Friday, June 27.
