NEED TO KNOW
Aimee Lou Wood was given an unconventional task by her agent the second that The White Lotus wrapped.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Wood and her The White Lotus co-star, Patrick Schwarzenegger, spoke about their recent partnership with Venmo and reflected on what they pull out their credit cards for — and surprisingly, it isn’t big ticket items like their fans might think.
In Wood’s case, she often finds herself spending most of her money on trinkets for her home — so much so, that her agent advised her to purchase a brand new wardrobe.
“I think I need to go and treat myself more. My agent said this to me the other day,” Wood told PEOPLE when asked what her big splurge was.

She continued “[My agent] was like, “Why are you wearing these clothes?” I came in and I looked so scruffy, and she was like, “Maybe you should just go and have a shopping spree,” and it will probably feel really fun and good, but I usually just spend my money on such silly…It’s always novelty household things.”
The actress, 31, admitted that one of her financial vices is spending “so much money on cute things that are just quite pointless” or impractical, like “tiny miniature toy mice that I think are sweet.”
Despite her love of trinkets, Wood said that she’s “looking forward to maybe a shopping spree soon, because it is really cool when you can do that.” Her first big ticket item, she recalled, was when she purchased a Apple Macbook. “I remember that being a moment,” she added.

Schwarzenegger, however, gave his White Lotus co-star more credit and revealed that she often spends her hard earned money on treating others.

“She spends or offers to spend is that she just took Abby [Champion] and I out for a very nice dinner when we were out in London and she bought it. She did the old, I’m going to the bathroom trick and paid for the bill,” he said.

Wood’s spending behaviors has inspired some of Schwarzenegger’s own spending habits, too.
“That’s I would say something that I like to do as well,” he said of his on-screen counterpart. “I’m not a big item person, but I do love experiences and I do love going out to great meals. I love going with people, so I always, that’s where I splurge, is just I like to pick up the bill and take people out to dinners or to activity experiences.”
