NEED TO KNOW
Tarek El Moussa has returned to social media after being involved in a physical altercation in Las Vegas, which resulted in him being issued a citation by police.
The 43-year-old Flip Off star, who was allegedly defending his elderly father from a man that was harassing him, praised his 14-year-old daughter’s academic achievements and wished her well ahead of her high school journey in a post on Tuesday, June 10.
“Taylor we are so proud of you and so excited for you to head into the next stage of your life. Our beautiful, smart, incredible, bright light we all love and adore you,” the Instagram caption read.
His ex-wife, Christina Haack, 41, shared the joint post, adding El Moussa and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, 37. The former couple’s son, Brayden, 9, also joined the family photo.
“We hope all the mistakes you’ve watched us make throughout your life help to guide you to a brighter future…. 😜🤣🤣 love you baby,” the caption continued. “High school here we come!!!”
Haack’s reference about “mistakes” was likely a light-hearted dig at her and Tarek’s past relationship.
During a tearful series premiere of The Flip Off in January, Haack opened up about how “horrible” things have been since their marriage ended in 2016.
“I know we’re in a good place now,” she told Tarek. “But yeah, we went through a lot of stuff. I don’t think anyone understands just how much stuff we went through. We met when we were so young.”
Haack was 22 and Tarek was 24 when they met in 2005. After tying the knot in 2009, they called it quits following a scary incident that involved Tarek fleeing their California home with a gun.

Tarek’s most recent incident occurred on Thursday, June 5, at The Palazzo at The Venetian Resort. He was not arrested as a result of the altercation, but instead received a citation for battery.
A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that officers responded to the incident, where two males were involved in a physical altercation resulting in one being cited.
A witness described the scene as “bad” and said the victim was “seriously roughed up.” However, all parties involved refused medical attention, according to TMZ, who was first to report the news.
Along with his dad, Tarek was joined by Heather, his mother Dominique El Moussa and Heather’s parents on the trip.
The couple documented the getaway in an Instagram Reel shared jointly Saturday, June 7, which featured multiple clips of the married HGTV stars enjoying their time together with their parents.

Tarek’s dad can be seen standing in the background in a few clips, as well as in the group shot pictured at the end of the video, where he poses next to his son.
The reason for the group trip was seemingly to support Tarek, who spoke at an event in Las Vegas, according to the post. He can be seen speaking on stage to a crowd of people in multiple clips.
