Jodie Sweetin is sharing her candid thoughts about former Full House costar Ashley Olsen becoming a mom.
Sweetin exclusively spoke to PEOPLE before a live taping of her Full House rewatch podcast — How Rude, Tanneritos! — which she cohosts with former Full House costar Andrea Barber, at the iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, Calif., on Thursday, June 5.
During the conversation, which included parenthood and her upcoming projects, the actress mentioned how strange it feels to see the people you knew as kids having children of their own.

“I think it’s how the adults [on the Full House set] felt for us,” Sweetin, 43, recalls. “When we came around with our kids, they were just like, ‘This is so weird. You’re old enough to have a child, what?’ “
“I ask myself that every day,” she adds.

Sweetin starred with Ashley and her twin sister, Mary-Kate Olsen, on the series from 1987 to 1995. She then reprised her role as Stephanie Tanner for the Full House reboot, Fuller House, from 2016 to 2020, though both Olsen twins declined to participate in the revival.

Sweetin also told PEOPLE a little about her kids — daughters Zoie, 17, and Beatrix, 14 — sharing that they have never been particularly interested in her Full House legacy.
“Even when they were little, they were like, ‘It’s weird,’ “ she says.
“It was probably on, like, Nick at Nite or something,” she adds. “I’m sure my mom or dad, when the kids were little, [were] like, ‘Oh, you want to watch mom on the show?’ And even at 2, they were probably like, ‘No.’ “

And as to whether her daughters have caught the acting bug from their mom?
“My younger one, Bea is a performer,” Sweetin says. “Zoie is more my athlete, and that’s kind of her thing. But Bea, if you just let her go, she will figure out how to put on a show somewhere.”

While Sweetin told PEOPLE that she would “love” to do another Full House reboot someday, she shared that her upcoming project will allow fans to see her in a new — and decidedly more dramatic — light.
“I have a Lifetime movie coming out called Dateless to Dangerous, which is about the radicalization of young men online right now, and I play [the main boy’s] mom,” she explains.
“It was a fun opportunity,” Sweetin adds. “And I believe it will be an interesting thing for people to see me do something a little different — not one joke in it. When I read the script, I was like, ‘Oh, this is for real, for real. So, yeah … it’s pretty intense.”
Dateless to Dangerous premieres June 21 on Lifetime.
