Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Final Destination Bloodlines!
Final Destination is a franchise that is ripe with fan theories, and if this incredibly popular theory is true, then the existence of Final Destination Bloodlines creates one huge death problem for the franchise’s future. Final Destination Bloodlines is one of the most successful movies in the series, with it being a box office hit and earning a surprising amount of critical praise. While the 2025 film does something new with the franchise’s formula, the ending creates a massive problem that will have to be resolved before Final Destination 7 in order for this fan theory to hold up.
Final Destination Bloodlines’ opening mass death event took place in 1968, but its final survivors weren’t killed until the present day. This means that Death has spent the last few decades cleaning up the survivors of the Sky View incident, meaning that the entity is just now finishing it up. This has led to the theory that every previous Final Destination character is somehow the descendant of someone who was involved in the Sky View incident. The previous deaths and premonitions could have all been part of Death’s new plan, with him cleaning up the mess that Iris Campbell started.
Final Destination Bloodlines Is The Conclusion Of Death’s Plan
With The Deaths Of The Campbell Line
According to Iris in Final Destination Bloodlines, Death had to kill the Sky View survivors in the order they would have otherwise died. Since there were so many survivors, this took an incredibly long time. By the time Death got to Iris, she had learned enough about Death to move into a Death-proof house. There, she managed to survive for several more decades, with her family growing in the process. Once Iris was finally killed, Death had to move on and wipe out the rest of the Campbell line, with Death successfully doing so by the end of Final Destination Bloodlines.

Final Destination Bloodlines does a lot of new things, but it does lift one major character dynamic from a previous Final Destination movie.
Upon killing the Campbells, there was only one survivor of the Sky View incident left: William Bludworth. Although Bludworth’s death isn’t seen, Tony Todd’s character seems resigned to his fate, meaning that it probably happened shortly after the film’s ending. Tony Todd has unfortunately passed away since filming Final Destination Bloodlines, meaning that the Bludworth line can’t come back in Final Destination 7. Thus, if the aforementioned fan theory is true, Death’s plan may finally be over.
If Death’s Plan Is Done, How Does Final Destination 7 Happen?
If The Fan Theory Remains True
Although the fan theory that every Final Destination victim is somehow linked to Sky View has not been confirmed, Final Destination Bloodlines heavily implies it. Thus, if Death is done cleaning up the survivors of Sky View, it raises the question of how Final Destination 7 happens. For the fan theory to stay plausible, Final Destination 7 would have to reveal that there was another survivor of Sky View that Iris didn’t recognize. It could be a straggler in the building, or maybe someone who died on the ground thanks to the falling debris.
However, the simplest explanation is to simply deconfirm the Sky View theory. Linking every Final Destination character to this one event from 1968 is a bit complicated, and while it is fun to think about, it would restrict the franchise more than it would help it. Instead, it is probably better to make Death’s plan continue operating as normal.
Final Destination 7 Can Be A Fresh Start For The Franchise Now
Introducing Another Major Disaster & Premonition
If the Sky View theory is true, it means that the Sky View incident was an actual mistake on Death’s part rather than part of its master plan. If this is the case, Final Destination 7 could simply reintroduce another incident as big as Sky View in order to keep the theory true. Just as Death has wrapped up one accident, another occurs, keeping the franchise moving. However, it seems more likely that this Final Destination Bloodlines theory will simply be ignored, with Final Destination 7 moving on like any other Final Destination movie.
