NEED TO KNOW
Could there be an all-new Camp Rock movie? Well, star Alyson Stoner isn’t too sure.
“I haven’t heard about Camp Rock 3, but you want to know how I heard about Phineas and Ferb’s new season? From the internet,” Stoner, 31, reveals, while responding to recent rumors as they promote Phineas and Ferb’s big return on June 5.
“It wouldn’t be the first time,” the Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything author notes. “I truly cannot confirm or deny anything. They haven’t given me a ring.”
The Camp Rock franchise was wildly popular after its first film debuted in 2008. Now, nearly 15 years after the second film, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, premiered on the Disney Channel in 2010, rumors have begun swirling online that a third movie is reportedly in the works.

Stoner starred as Caitlyn Geller in the musical films alongside Demi Lovato, Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Meaghan Martin, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Jasmine Richards and Maria Canals-Barrera. Some of the cast recently reunited at JONASCON, where Jonas Brothers members Nick, 32, Kevin, 37, and Joe, 35, celebrated the band’s 20th anniversary.
However, with where the franchise left off in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, Camp Rock’s initially shaky fate was restored (as they were facing a potential closure) despite losing the big competition to their rival, Camp Star.
“I wonder where that plot line would go,” Stoner ponders. “It would thicken. It would have to thicken quite a bit to get all of us back.”

Although Stoner’s not certain about what’s in store for the Camp Rock franchise, the Cheaper by the Dozen actor — whose rich history with Disney also includes The Suite Life of Zack and Cody — is excited about returning to their Disney roots with Phineas and Ferb’s latest season. The animated show’s return comes nearly 10 years after it concluded in 2015 with season 4, and its 2020 televised movie, Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.

“I definitely needed to revisit some old vocal warmups because Isabella’s voice is in a very high register,” Stoner says of their Phineas and Ferb character. “However, the essence of Isabella is an extension of who I am and she lives within my heart and my mind and my being.”
“I think it was easy to recapture the personality. It was more so, do my vocal musculatures actually operate this way anymore? You had to get back into the gym,” the star adds. “But now, we’re ready.”
