NEED TO KNOW
Summer vacation is about to begin, which means Phineas and Ferb will head to the backyard.
The popular animated series ran on the Disney Channel and Disney XD from August 2007 to June 2015, when it ended after four seasons and 137 episodes. In January 2023, it was announced that Disney had ordered 40 new episodes of Phineas and Ferb. Most recently, the first two episodes premiered on June 5 on Disney Channel and Disney XD, with the entire new season debuting the next day on Disney+.
The cartoon follows two imaginative stepbrothers, Phineas (Vincent Martella) and Ferb (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) who don’t want to waste a second of summer vacation, so they embark on adventures and construct elaborate projects, while inadvertently annoying their older sister, Candace (Ashley Tisdale).
The siblings are accompanied by their pet platypus Perry (Dee Bradley Baker), who turns out to be a secret agent battling the evil Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire).
“There are stories that we’ve been wanting to tell for a long time that we never got around to,” series co-creator Povenmire said at New York Comic Con in October 2024. “There are things that we were like, ‘Hey, we’ve never done this kind of an episode’ that we had tried to do a couple of times and we finally figured out a way to do it that worked within our universe.”
So, where is the Phineas and Ferb cast today? In honor of the show’s return to TV, here’s everything to know about what the voice actors have been doing since the original series ended 10 years ago.

Vincent Martella has voiced the triangle-headed Phineas since the animated series premiered in 2007.
Outside of thwarting Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s dastardly plans on Phineas and Ferb, Martella has faced off against zombies and helped Batman protect Gotham City in recent years.
He voiced Jason Todd, a.k.a. Robin, in two Batman animated movies: 2010’s Batman: Under the Red Hood and 2020’s Batman: Death in the Family.
Martella has also acted in other TV series. He played Greg Wuliger on Everybody Hates Chris. He later revisited the project for the animated sitcom, Everybody Still Hates Chris, in which he voiced several characters. Other appearances include roles on The Mentalist and The Walking Dead.
Gamers might recognize Martella as the English-language voice of Hope Estheim in the Final Fantasy video game franchise. He played Hope in 2010’s Final Fantasy XIII, 2011’s Final Fantasy XIII-2 and 2013’s Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
During the Phineas and Ferb panel at the 2024 New York Comic Con, Martella revealed that he had kept the show on his radar. “We always heard rumors that something might happen just because we have such a fantastic fan base for the show,” he said.
“But it’s really hard to believe that something like that is going to happen, especially once you finish a project,” the actor continued. “It is pretty rare that you get a chance to come back and, and do new seasons of the show.”

Thomas Brodie-Sangster plays Ferb, the reserved British stepbrother of Phineas.
Since the original run of Phineas and Ferb ended in 2015, Brodie-Sangster has kept busy appearing in blockbusters such as Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens and The Maze Runner series.
On the small screen, Brodie-Sangster was part of the cast of Netflix’s Godless, The Queen’s Gambit and most recently, played Rafe Sadler on the English historical drama, Wolf Hall.
In June 2024, the Love Actually star married actress Talulah Riley. The two originally met while working together on FX’s Pistols in 2021.

Ashley Tisdale portrays Candace, the older sister of Phineas and the stepsister of Ferb.
After wrapping up her time on the Disney animated show, the High School Musical alum played Jenny on the 2019 CBS sitcom, Carol’s Second Act, starring Patricia Heaton.
A few years later, in 2022, she launched her bath and body brand, Being Frenshe, which she expanded to include a hair wellness collection in January 2025.
In recent years, Tisdale and her husband, Christopher French, have welcomed two daughters: Jupiter in 2021, and Emerson in 2024.
Despite voicing Candace on Phineas and Ferb, she hasn’t shown the series to her oldest daughter, Jupiter, just yet.
“It might be a little bit more for older age range,” she told PEOPLE in May 2025. “She knows that I’m on it, and she has seen that, but I haven’t shown her the new episodes.”
Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus

Dee Bradley Baker voices Perry the Platypus, whom Phineas and Ferb think is just a normal pet but is actually a secret agent who fights Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
Baker is an animation voice legend. In the years since he originally hung up Perry’s fedora, he has given life to characters in a variety of iconic series, from Star Wars and Scooby-Doo to Gremlins and SpongeBob SquarePants.
In addition to returning to play Perry, Baker reprised another of his most famous roles: Olmec, the talking stone head from Legends of the Hidden Temple. He voiced Olmec when the competition series aired on Nickelodeon in the ’90s, and played him again for the 2021 reboot on The CW.

Dan Povenmire dialed up the drama as evil eccentric scientist, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, or “Doof” for short.
Not only did Povenmire provide the villainous voice of Dr. Doofenshmirtz, but he also, along with Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, co-created Phineas and Ferb.
Povenmire later voiced Dr. Doofenshmirtz in Milo Murphy’s Law and Hamster and Gretel, two animated series in the same universe as Phineas and Ferb.
As Variety reported, when the new season of Phineas and Ferb was announced, Povenmire said, “It has been the greatest pleasure of my career to see how an entire generation of kids and parents have embraced the characters and the humor of Phineas and Ferb.”
“I’m eagerly looking forward to diving back into the show for them and for a whole new generation,” he added.

Alyson Stoner plays Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, one of the brothers’ best friends, who also has a crush on Phineas.
Before Phineas and Ferb, Stoner (who uses they/them pronouns) was known for their roles in The Suite Life of Zach & Cody, Camp Rock and the Cheaper by the Dozen movies.
In 2023, Stoner hosted the podcast Dear Hollywood, and the following year, they appeared in the documentary Child Star, directed by Demi Lovato.
Stoner is also the co-founder and CEO of Movement Genius, a “digital wellness platform that provides live and on-demand classes to help you improve your mental, emotional and physical well-being.”
In August 2025, Stoner will release their memoir, Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything.
“If I was going to pen a memoir, I needed to be certain it carried a lot of weight within its pages, both personally and collectively,” Stoner told PEOPLE in October 2024. “At face value, it reveals the truths that I’ve held closest — details left unsaid because of legal contracts, stories not even my family and friends know and an extremely intimate journey of mental health and self-development.”

Aside from bringing Buford to life, Gaylor was also a writer on Phineas and Ferb. In recent years, Gaylor wrote for The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, The Snoopy Show and SpongeBob SquarePants.
The actor has also lent his voice for other Phineas and Ferb titles, including the 2020 TV movie Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.

In the decade since he finished working on the Disney Channel show, Pancholy has starred in various other series, such as The Good Fight, Elementary and Only Murders in the Building.
He also voiced characters on the Netflix animated series, Q-Force, Disney Junior’s Mira, Royal Detective and in the 2022 Spotify podcast, Gay Pride & Prejudice.
Outside of acting, Pancholy has written two young adult novels, The Best at It and Nikhil Out Loud. In June 2025, he debuted his new Audible original series, Murder at the Patel Motel.
“I’m so excited to share @audible’s announcement for Murder at the Patel Motel, a comedic murder mystery which I created, co-wrote and star in, that takes place at an Indian-American, family-owned Patel Motel,” he wrote on Instagram.
“This has been a real passion project, and I can’t wait for you to listen.” Pancholy added.

For millennials, Rhea is most known for playing Aunt Hilda on the ’90s supernatural sitcom, Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
In recent years, she has appeared in multiple made-for-TV holiday movies like A Christmas in Tennessee, A Mrs. Miracle Christmas and Holiday Mismatch, the latter in which she reunited with her Sabrina costar, Beth Broderick.
Rhea has also been a staple on game shows, competing on 25 Words or Less, Match Game and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.
Aside from Phineas and Ferb, Rhea can be seen this fall on Sheriff Country, the new spinoff of the hit CBS series, Fire Country. According to Deadline, Rhea will play Gina, the assistant to Sheriff Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin).

Not only is O’Brien reprising his role on Phineas and Ferb this year, but he will also be celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
O’Brien wrote the original stage musical, The Rocky Horror Show, which inspired the 1975 movie adaptation that he starred in alongside Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and more.
Earlier this year, O’Brien was featured in Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror, a documentary looking back at the legacy of the musical, which premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival.
O’Brien’s musical, The Rocky Horror Show, will have a Broadway revival in spring 2026.
