Even Craig Melvin gets starstruck!
At the top of the Today show on Wednesday, June 4, the journalist, 46, seemed extra excited when going through that morning’s upcoming segments. After naming the guest host of Jenna & Friends, Melvin’s co-anchors realized it was because he had a celebrity crush.
“Halle Berry’s here today?” Melvin asked Jenna Bush Hager, who teased, “All the sudden you’re sticking around!”
“Look at the grin on his face,” Al Roker chimed in. “Oh my, oh my.”

They continued to poke fun at Melvin, with Bush Hager, 43, joking that he was probably going to start “walking past the makeup room” and Roker, 70, declaring: “I think Craig’s got the vapors.”
“I didn’t know you had Halle on,” Melvin insisted. “She’s upstairs in makeup?”
Savannah Guthrie then noted, “You’ll be at the morning meeting for sure.”
“Oh my god, look at Craig blushing,” Bush Hager continued before Guthrie added, “Let’s get a check of the weather. It’s getting hot in here.”
Going along with it, Melvin asked for the forecast as Roker told him he was “cheesing” and Bush Hager said he “turned red.”
“My forecast is you’re gonna have some ‘splaining to do when you come home,” Roker joked about what Melvin’s wife, Lindsay Czarniak, would think of his crush.

Later in the episode, Melvin was met with a major surprise while introducing the show’s 3rd Hour live on air.
“Just for you, Craig, ‘Oh, Halle! Halle Berry!’” Roker shouted, catching Melvin off guard.
“No, don’t do that,” he responded, attempting to continue with his normal talking points.
Berry, 58, then snuck up behind Melvin, who jumped as she placed her hands on his shoulders.
“Halle, he’s been blushing all morning,” Bush Hager told the actress. “He’s actually sweating.”
As Melvin greeted Berry with a hug, she laughed and agreed: “Oh my god, you are sweating!”
“Good to see you. Do you need a third host?” he quipped.
When Bush Hager stepped in to remind him that Barry’s partner, Van Hunt, was there, telling Melvin to “back off,” he quickly defended himself. He exclaimed, “Oh, come on! I didn’t know that.”
