Este Haim is reflecting on past relationships.
The singer who makes up of one-third of the sister band Haim along with Alana Haim and Danielle Haim, told British GQ about an egregious reason someone broke up with her.
“I had a guy break up with me because I said that there was a possibility that our kid would have diabetes,” Este, 39 who has Type 1 Diabetes, told the publication. “He was like, ‘Then why are we here?’ And I was like, ‘What?!’ ”
Things look different for Este, who is now engaged to tech entrepreneur Jonathan Levin, which she announced in February with a picture of her wearing a diamond ring and a shirt that reads “I’m taken.”

Unfortunately, Alana, 33, was able to share a dating horror story as well. “I had a boyfriend that gave me an ultimatum between doing Licorice Pizza and staying with him,” she said. “I obviously made the right choice…”
Alana wound up being nominated for the Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical Golden Globe in the Paul Thomas Anderson movie.
Meanwhile, Danielle, 36, learned while being single that she’s “okay alone.” “Not only okay, but so happy. Sorry to be that bitch but I’m like, really having a great time being by myself. And now, unless someone’s gonna make me so much more happy, I’m good.”
“It’s the happiest she’s ever been, honestly,” Este added. “For sure.”
Adds Alana: “It’s nice to see sparkle and, like, energy come out of Danielle again,” because “for a long time it felt like it was kind of lost.”
The sisters’ latest album I Quit will be released later this month. Alana said that they never intended for the album title to be “a negative.” “When we say ‘I quit’, it’s like, ‘I quit the things that don’t serve me.’ And it’s really amazing, ’cause quitting is a new beginning.”
She also told the publication that there is “a lot of experimentation” with I Quit. “And it felt like we had the stage to actually experiment without feeling pressure about it.”

The album’s title was inspired by an inside joke among the sisters from the 1996 movie That Thing You Do. They already released three singles ahead of the full album: “Relationships,” “Down to be wrong,” and “Everybody’s trying to figure me out.”
I Quit is available to stream on June 20.
