NEED TO KNOW
Ozzy Osbourne and his family made history when they starred in their own reality series, The Osbournes. The show aired 52 episodes between 2002 and 2005 and was an instant sensation. It launched Ozzy, who died July 22 at age 76, back into the spotlight, this time with his wife Sharon and their kids, Kelly and Jack. Their eldest daughter, Aimee, chose not to participate in the show. Ozzy also had two children, Louis and Jessica, with his first wife.
Though the Osbourne family was known for their loud-mouthed swearing, in the United States, all curses were edited out. Still, people loved seeing Ozzy — who until then was known primarily for his music and legendary stage antics — in a domestic setting, arguing with his family, parenting his kids and hanging out around the house. The Osbournes won the 2002 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program; it was only the second year the category existed.
But Ozzy wasn’t exactly proud of his first time as a reality star. “Of course, I regret doing the f—— show,” Ozzy told NME in 2013. “I didn’t want to be on f—— television. I didn’t become a f—— rock ‘n’ roll singer to read the f—— weather forecast, know what I mean?”

From 2016 to 2018, Ozzy and Jack starred in Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour. In 2020, the family appeared in the Travel Channel series The Osbournes Want to Believe.
Ahead, here are some of the most iconic moments from The Osbournes reality series.
The Infamous Bubbles

The Osbournes sometimes shows behind-the-scenes moments from Ozzy’s concerts. In a season 1 episode of the show, Sharon, now 72, showed Ozzy a new effect for his concert: bubbles.
Ozzy was not pleased. “Bubbles! Oh, come on, Sharon!” he shouted. “I’m f—— Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of f—— Darkness. Evil! Evil! What’s f—— evil about a butt-load of f—— bubbles!?”
The Fight With the Neighbors
During the show’s first season, the Osbournes were upset about their new, loud neighbors. After multiple attempts to get the neighbors to turn their music down ended in screaming matches, Ozzy, Sharon and Jack, now 39, got dirty.
One night, the neighbors started loudly singing, and Jack began playing music back. When that didn’t work, Sharon threw an old Christmas ham at them. Jack and Ozzy joined in, throwing old food over the fence. The police were called, but once they left, the action ramped up again, with Ozzy throwing a log through the neighbors’ window.
Ozzy Fights the Television

In one of the show’s most relatable scenes, Ozzy became flummoxed when the TV became stuck on the weather channel, and he called on Jack to help. “I’m a very simple man,” he said. “You’ve got to have a computer now to turn the f—— TV on and off. I press one button and the shower starts. What is this? Where am I, man? The nightmare continues. Nightmare in Beverly Hills.”
Dog Issues

One of the most iconic parts of The Osbournes was the many pets in the family’s home, causing all types of trouble. In one episode in season 2, Ozzy snapped about the amount of poop in the house. “I’m not picking up dog s—,” Ozzy said. “I’m a rock star.” When someone suggested they hire a dog trainer, he bellowed, “You don’t need to hire a dog therapist! You just need to wake up at 7 a.m., and open the f—— door!
Ozzy Fights the Ocean

In season 2, Ozzy decided to build a campfire outside his beach house. It did not go well. He built the fire too close to the ocean, and when the tide comes in, the fire is extinguished. “Stop! F—! Go to Alaska!” he yelled at the ocean. “No, no, no, no. You f—— a—— ocean! No!” It’s not the first time Ozzy has had issues with the water. In another episode, he and Jack get into serious hijinks while trying to catch a fish.
Kelly and Jack’s Fight About Christina Aguilera

Kelly, now 40, and Jack got into a drag-out fight when Jack danced with Kelly’s nemesis — Christina Aguilera — in season 2. “When you hate someone, I hate someone,” she told Jack. “You just wanted to say that you danced with Christina Aguilera.” Kelly punched him, then went back for more as Sharon tried to keep them apart.
