This beloved Steven Spielberg movie is coming to Netflix to kick off the month. In the 1982 film, starring Henry Thomas and Drew Barrymore, a young boy befriends an unsightly alien and learns a lot about humanity along the way.
Although studios didn’t fully get the idea at first, which was based on an imaginary friend that Spielberg made up during his parents’ divorce, the movie became one of the highest-grossing of all time and remains iconic.

In 2011, actor Charlie Sheen had a very public breakdown, which included details of his substance abuse coming to light and multiple interviews in which he made escalating and confusing claims, such as that he was a “warlock” with “Adonis DNA.” Sheen was also fired from his long-running show, Two and a Half Men and had a feud with its creator, Chuck Lorre.
For the most part, the former star then receded out of the spotlight, until now. In his new documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, the actor says he will share his side of the rollercoaster story. The two-part docuseries also includes interviews with Lorre, Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards and his daughter Lola Sheen, among others.

After returning for a season 1, part 2 in March 2025, the sophomore season plans to continue twisting the two women’s lives together in a mess of drama and steamy romance.

The Wrong Paris (Sept. 12)

Although it isn’t quite the holiday season — when Netflix goes all out with saccharine love stories — it is always a good time for a cheesy romance movie. In mid-September, the streamer is doing just that with The Wrong Paris, a meta romance focusing on the contestants and lead of a fictional reality dating show.
Miranda Cosgrove stars as an ambitious, wanderlusty woman who just wants to travel to France when she finds herself in the middle of Paris, Texas instead, vying for the attention and love of a reality show’s lead, played by Pierson Fode. What happens next will probably include lots of miscommunication and a whole lot of steamy barn makeouts.

The feminist flick is hilarious, charming and hits its happily ever after without any cheap explanations.
