NEED TO KNOW
Lena Dunham is a Travis Kelce fan, and she’s not afraid to gush about it.
On Monday, Dec. 8, the 39-year-old Girls creator shared a sweet nod to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, after she joined Taylor Swift in a suite for a Sunday, Dec. 7 game at Arrowhead Stadium.
“My first home team (I happen to be a New Yorker who lives in London who roots for Kansas City, so sue me 😍),” Dunham began in an Instagram carousel caption.
Her post didn’t include snaps of the pop star, 35, but the writer and actress did share selfies with her producing partner Michael P. Cohen as they both wore Chiefs gear for the game against the Houston Texans.
“If you see me in a new piece of Chiefs merch every day for the next 17 months blame @handler.official and keep moving,” she joked of her wardrobe choices.
“She’s in her sports era,” Dunham continued in a nod to Swift.
The Good Sex director also said her parents now “have questions” about her newfound interest in sports, because she says they “spent my childhood having to ask me to do light laps of the apartment during the summers so I didn’t get bed sores!”
“Love you @killatrav,” Dunham wrote, tagging the tight end.
During Sunday’s game, Dunham and Cohen were also joined by Swift’s best friend Selena Gomez. The group of four looked on as the Chiefs fell to the Texans, 20-10.

Dunham and Swift have been friends for years, and in a 2024 Instagram post, the writer shared that she’d seen her friend in concert “over a dozen times,” and that “each one [was] more magical than the next.”
Just one month prior to that post, Dunham explained to The New Yorker why she’s so “protective” over Swift.

“I’m always very careful to be protective of her in every single way,” she said in the July 2024 interview. “Probably the two things I get asked most in life are ‘What is Taylor like?’ and ‘Can I have tickets to the Eras Tour?’ And usually my answer to both things is no.”
Dunham also added that Swift’s personal life has always been “so microscopic” and that parts of the pop star’s adulthood were held to a “set of standards that were so outlandish.”
