Taylor Swift is fearless!
The pop superstar, 35, recalled the toll the three-plus, hour-long Eras Tour concert took on her body throughout its nearly two-year-long run, and cited one specific outfit that saved her from feeling its physical effects.
Swift pinpointed the Versace number that she wore for the Lover album portion of the tour, which featured a bodysuit intricately decorated with custom embellishments that sparkled in pink, blue, purple and orange crystals and sequins to represent songs’ dreamy aesthetic.

“I got to wear this very sparkly, Versace bodysuit,” she said during her guest appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
The 14-time Grammy winner explained the invincibility she felt upon slipping into the sequined statement, even if she wasn’t feeling her best.
“Any time I put it on, I could be like coughing from a horrible virus, I could be like stomach virus, I could be like aching,” she said, adding, “I was constantly in a lot of physical pain, but when I put that on, I was just like, ‘No, this is popping. I’m doing it. We’re going.’ ”
Swift’s history-making Eras Tour began in March 2023 and wrapped in December 2024. She performed 149 shows in total across five continents — North America, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe — and broke various records in between.
While speaking with Stephen Colbert, Swift compared the Lover bodysuit to an outfit she wore to sing the national anthem at a football game when she was 12 years old. The late night host whipped out a photo for her reference.

“What is the same and what is different about this 12-year-old Taylor Swift and the woman you are today?” Colbert asked Swift when he showed her the picture ahead of her 36th birthday on Dec. 13.
She quipped, “I’m taller and I know more words.”
Then, Swift answered seriously.

“So you know when you’re 11 and you’ve got that one outfit that you just know goes so hard?” she began to explain. “Like when you just know that when you put this on, you’re like, ‘I’m sorry. I’m just unstoppable today.”
“And when you’ve got the sparkly American flag shirt with the red duster and it’s 2001 and you’ve got this red headband… like this was my National Anthem-performance outfit,” she said of feeling empowered in the look.
“It’s kind of similar to the first look that I got to wear in The Eras Tour,” she pointed out, before going on to explain the power of the aforementioned Versace bodysuit.
Swift covered a variety of topics while speaking with Colbert, from her Kansas City Chiefs star fiancé Travis Kelce being the love of her life to getting her masters back. She also addressed people who want her to “just go away.”
