Taylor Swift is congratulating Olympic skier Breezy Johnson on getting engaged to Connor Watkins after playing a small part in the couple’s love story.
On Thursday (Feb. 12), the pop superstar commented a sweet message on the athlete’s engagement announcement on Instagram, which featured a photo of Watkins proposing to Johnson at the finish line of the 2026 women’s Super-G race. The gold medalist also included a snap of her new engagement band and its wooden ring box, on which her new fiancé had a line from Swift’s song “The Alchemy” — “Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?” — engraved.
The 14-time Grammy winner matched the vibe by quoting more lyrics from the Tortured Poets Department track in the replies. “’Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me,’” Swift wrote. “CONGRATULATIONS!!!”
The women’s downhill competition took place on Feb. 8 in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy as part of the ongoing 2026 Winter Games. Johnson took home the gold for Team USA, after which she wrote in her engagement post, “Hey guys… meet Connor! My ex boyfriend! And current fiancé!!! Thank you to everyone who made this moment possible. It was everything I ever dreamed of. Kind of like Connor!”
Swift — who, of course, is also an engaged woman, with fiancé Travis Kelce popping the question this past August — is a documented fan of the Olympics. Earlier in February, a video she filmed of herself wishing the athletes luck aired during NBC’s opening ceremony for the Games.
“Getting to learn your stories, and seeing everything you sacrificed and all your determination and hard work and passion … it’s just really inspiring,” she said in the video. “I am very grateful for everything you’ve done to get to this point in your life and grateful that you’ve brought all of us along on this journey.”
