Taylor Swift calls on Stevie Nicks for her wisdom.
During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, Dec. 10, the pop megastar opened up about how she’ll go to the Fleetwood Mac singer, 77, for advice.
Swift, 35, revealed that when it comes to guidance, she tries to “find throughlines in many people’s experiences.”

“Like, I think we can relate to each other even if our lives aren’t identical,” she told host Stephen Colbert.
Swift then noted that she’s been “very lucky” when it comes to getting advice.
“I have Stevie Nicks in my life in a way that affects me positively constantly,” said the “Opalite” singer. “Being able to talk with her and have a phone call with her and hear what she’s been through…she paved the way for me and many other artists out there.”

Swift added, “I feel like she has lended her very magical, wonderful, wise approach.
Swift and Nicks have long been connected for years, and after performing “Rhiannon” and “You Belong with Me” at the 2010 Grammys, the 14-time Grammy winner called the experience a “fairy tale and an honor.”
At the time, Nicks praised Swift’s “determination” and “childlike nature,” saying that “this girl writes the songs that make the whole world sing, like Neil Diamond or Elton John.”
Nicks has spoken about how Swift’s Midnights song “You’re on Your Own Kid” helped her grieve her late bandmate and friend Christine McVie who died in November 2022 at the age of 79.

She also wrote a poem in August 2023 for Swift that’s featured as the written prologue on The Tortured Poets Department,
Swift also name-dropped Nicks on the album’s track “Clara Bow.”
In an interview with TODAY.com in April 2024, Nicks opened up about what she hoped Swift learned from her songwriting.
“I never don’t tell the truth. And I think that’s something that if Taylor Swift, who is my friend, if Taylor got anything from me, that’s what she got,” the “Dreams” hitmaker said at the time.
Nicks added: “I don’t ever lie in my songs — and if you broke up with me, I don’t put I broke up with you. I tell the truth, always.”
