At that time, Mendes, 60, referred to the project as The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event and said it would be the “first singable theatrical experience.” During that presentation, he also noted that filming on the project would take roughly one year.

1917 filmmaker Mendes first announced he was working on four intertwining Beatles movies in February 2024. At that time, a press release stated that the project marks the first time The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have granted the rights to their life stories and music for a feature film.
“I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,” Mendes said in a statement at that time.
The four movies are expected to utilize each of the band member’s individual perspectives to tell the story of the band’s career. The group released more than 12 studio albums, toured the world and made a number of major impacts on pop culture between 1960 and 1970.

The biopics will feature Saorsie Ronan as McCartney’s first wife Linda, Mia McKenna Bruce as Ringo’s wife Maureen Starkey, Aimee Lou Wood as Harrison’s first wife Pattie Boyd, and Anna Sawai as Lennon’s second wife Yoko Ono.
James Norton will portray the group’s manager Brian Epstein, with Harry Lloyd as their producer George Martin, Deadline reported in December.
All four of the Beatles biopics are scheduled to release in theaters in April 2028.
