Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Wenne Alton Davis Dead at 60 After Being Hit By a Car
Hollywood is mourning a sudden loss.
Actor Wenne Alton Davis—best known for playing roles on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Girls5eva and New Amsterdam—died after being hit by a car in New York City Dec. 8, police and their agent confirmed to The New York Times. They were 60.
Police told the outlet Davis was hit by an S.U.V. that was traveling on West 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan and made a left turn on Broadway where the vehicle struck a pedestrian. Davis was transferred to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
E! News has reached out to authorities and a rep for Davis but hasn’t heard back.
Davis’ manager Jamie Harris told the NYT that the actor was originally born as Wendy Davis in North Carolina on Oct. 18, 1965, but chose to use the name Wenne Alton Davis for their acting roles. Davis moved to New York in their late 20s to work as a stand up comedian before turning to acting. They also worked security at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
