Gaga and Polansky confirmed their engagement in the summer of 2024
Lady Gaga has a soft spot for notes!
The 14-time Grammy winner, 39, opened up about her relationship with her fiancé Michael Polansky during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and shared an intimate detail about him that she enjoys.
When asked by the titular host to name her “favorite smell” as part of his known segment, “The Colbert Questionert,” Gaga answered without hesitation: “Michael’s neck.”
In response, Colbert asked Polansky — who was seemingly off camera by the way the comedian turned his head — a follow up question in attempt to learn why it’s the “Bad Romance” singer’s favorite scent.

“Do you wear cologne, Michael?” he asked the entrepreneur and tech investor.
Immediately, Gaga jumped in to reply.
“No,” she made clear, admitting that she’s against an added spray. “I actually don’t like cologne,” she shared, adding, “That’s my least favorite smell.”
Colbert nodded his head before the “Bloody Mary” singer emphasized, “Just strong cologne… not for me.”

Gaga and Polansky confirmed their engagement at the 2024 Paris Olympics, when she referred to him as “my fiancé” alongside the French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal when the trio spectated a swimming event together.
The couple were first romantically linked in 2020 when they were photographed kissing at a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas.
A few weeks later, they went public with their relationship during a PDA-filled weekend in Miami for Super Bowl 2020. At the time, Gaga shared a photo on Instagram of the pair cuddled up on a yacht, writing, “We had so much fun in Miami.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Polansky and Gaga isolated together at her Malibu home.
A source close to the singer exclusively told PEOPLE in April 2020 that they had “been hanging out at her house” and “ordering delivery food” while there.
In March 2025, Gaga shared how she knew Polansky was “the one” during an appearance on Good Morning America.
“He just loves the whole me,” she said of her fiancé.
