NEED TO KNOW
Jojo Siwa is on the mend after her health emergency.
Days after explaining the reason for being rushed to the hospital with “excruciating pain” in her stomach was because of a ruptured ovarian cyst, the “Karma” singer, 22, shared an update on how she is doing with her 11 million Instagram followers.
In a Tuesday, Dec. 2, Instagram post, Siwa said she’d had “an eventful weekend” and thanked her fans for their “well wishes and prayers.”
“I’m happy to say I’m doing a bit better, I’m not in the clear yet, but feeling better and doing well!” Siwa wrote. “I had a bit of a scare with a fever the night after I went to the hospital, but slept and woke up fever free and have been since!”
The Dance Moms alum went on to say that she is “resting when I can” and “drinking lots of electrolytes,” adding that “it’s been a beautiful circle of love and support that has helped me heal!”

The words were accompanied by a carousel of photos of Siwa in the hospital and being loaded into an ambulance, as well as snaps from her Mall of America performance on Friday, Nov. 28, which took place hours after her hospital dash.
One shot showed Siwa flashing a thumbs up to the camera as she lay in a hospital bed, while in another she was seen on a stretcher in an ambulance wearing the same outfit.
Another photo also showed a thermometer perched on her leg with a reading of 100 degrees.
Siwa’s latest post comes after she shared an update on TikTok about her ordeal on Saturday.
“So long story short, every time that I’ve been dancing for the last couple of days or even just like walking like anything, my stomach would just really, really hurt,” Siwa said in the clip.
She went on to say that the pain got “really bad” on Friday morning and she had thought sleeping it off might help, but it didn’t.

After calling 911, Siwa was taken to the hospital and given pain medication and an ultrasound, which revealed that “one of my ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into my stomach.”
“So that’s what was causing the excruciating pain — anytime that the blood in your stomach moves, that’s the bleeding in the stomach,” Siwa explained. “It’s like brutal pain, and long story short, [it] should revolve itself. It should stop on its own.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, ovarian cysts are “sacs, usually filled with fluid, in an ovary or on its surface.” They can “become twisted or burst open (rupture)” and this can cause “serious symptoms.”
In her update on Saturday, Siwa noted that she has to get checked out again in one week and would continue working as normal.
