Joanna Gaines Celebrates 2026 with an Energetic Roller Skating Routine

Joanna Gaines is bringing the energy to 2026!

The Magnolia Network co-founder, 47, celebrated New Year’s Day with an energetic roller skating routine, which she shared with her followers in a Jan. 1 Instagram Reel.

In the clip, she begins by showing off an impressive twirl before zooming straight towards the camera. The video cuts to another shot of her spinning around as she gracefully leans to one side.

She concludes the clip by racing towards the camera with a big smile on her face as she grabs it and skates away. “Letssssss Rollllllllllllll 2026!” she captioned the post, alongside blue heart and sparkle emojis.

Gaines is an avid roller skater, as well as an executive producer of Magnolia Network’s skating competition series, Roller Jam, alongside husband Chip Gaines, 51.

In the comments, Joanna’s followers couldn’t help but gush over the home design expert’s skills.

“Is there anything that this woman can’t do?” one user wrote, followed by another who added, “Go Jo!!!”

Another comment read, “You’re such a unique lady. I admire your spirit.”

Ahead of her celebratory New Year’s Day activity, Joanna reflected on the 2025 holiday season coming to an end in a Dec. 31 Instagram Story.

“Once the house is cleaned and Christmas is packed away, you already start dreaming about those chilly days in November and putting it all back up again. But then…” she wrote over one picture of pine tree branches scattered in her living room.

“Your house gets reset for the new season and the walls feel a little bare, it feels quiet and simple. You have the space to reflect about all that was and dream about all that’s to come,” she continued. “You stop thinking about decorating for Christmas in November and realize the moment right here, right now, this is the gift.”

Joanna previously got candid about taking her Christmas decorations down ahead of the new year in another Instagram post.

“I like starting the new year off with a clean slate so we’re taking the big tree down tomorrow,” she wrote on Dec. 29 with a video of the many ornaments her family has collected through the years.

Joanna has been married to husband Chip for 22 years, and the pair share five children together: daughters Ella, 19, and Emmie, 15, as well as sons Drake, 20, Duke, 17, and Crew, 7. The couple told PEOPLE in July how they’re able to keep their marriage fresh by taking up new hobbies together.

“What we’ve realized in 22 years of marriage . . . is we still feel like newbies. Anytime you unlock a new thing, and you do it together, it only grows your relationship,” Joanna said at the time, noting that the most recent “new thing” was dance lessons.

“I hired this couple; they came to our office and taught us how to dance.”

Chip also reflected on what the experience brought to their relationship.

“[When we started] we didn’t know how to hold our hands. It’s hard to make eye contact with even your best friend and wife of 22 years. It feels really strange, awkward. But then after two or three weeks, we started looking forward to those lessons,” he recalled.

“It was this sweet reminder that all of us could use refreshes and challenges in our relationships.”
