Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo managed to mix a miniature 13 Going on 30 reunion to their night at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards.
PEOPLE’s reporters at the 83rd annual Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 11, spotted Garner, 53, and Ruffalo, 58, with smiles on their faces as they mingled together at a dinner before the awards show began at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
The actors famously costarred in the beloved 2004 romantic comedy, which sees 13-year-old lead Jenna Rink magically transformed into a 30-year-old adult living in New York City and working as an editor at a fashion magazine. Ruffalo portrayed Matty, Jenna’s childhood friend, professional photographer and eventual love interest, in the time-bending comedy, which also starred Judy Greer, Andy Serkis and Kathy Baker, among others.
Ruffalo was nominated at the Jan. 11 awards ceremony for his performance in the HBO series Task alongside Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Diego Luna (Andor), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), Adam Scott (Severance) and Noah Wyle, who won the award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama for his role in The Pitt.
13 Going on 30 celebrated its 20th anniversary back in 2024, and Ruffalo told PEOPLE back in November of that year that it’s “the one I get people talking about when they come up to me” of any movie he has been in. The actor said that fans are “frequently handing me Razzles” and that fans always want to talk to him about Matt’s romantic late-night run for Razzles candy with Garner’s Jenna.

Garner has also cited filming that scene as “a favorite memory” from making the movie.
“It was the biggest paycheck any of us had ever had, even though it was not crazy,” she recalled in an April 2024 interview with PEOPLE. The movie made for breakout parts for her and Ruffalo, as well as Greer. “It was such a step up. We didn’t know if it would be any good or not, but we were all so in it to win it.”
