Ahead of the Trevor Noah-hosted ceremony, the 41-year-old also won Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for his and Brandon Lake’s duet “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” as well as Best Country Duo/Group Performance for his “Amen” collaboration with Shaboozey.
“We were talking about it in the car on the ride here,” Bunnie told Zuri Hall during Live From E!: Grammys. “We’re just like, ‘This is such a crazy, twisted fairytale. And he’s like, ‘I never saw this.’ And I said, ‘I did.'”
“Because when I saw him the first night I met him, the first thing I said to him was, ‘You’re special,’ and I meant it,” she continued, adding that “behind every man is a woman that’s pushing him.”
And Jelly Roll has undergone quite the transformation since recording Beautifully Broken. After all, he lost over 200 pounds after revamping his lifestyle.
“The biggest change I made was food,” he told E! News in January. “Man, I was on the brink of death.”
In addition to his declining health, Jelly Roll’s weight at the time also negatively impacted his sex life with Bunnie.
