NEED TO KNOW
Ice Spice is clearing the air on her rumored beef with Latto, which seemed to come to an end when they joined forces on “Gyatt.”
On Monday, Dec. 22, Ice Spice went on Watch What Happens Live! and was asked about the rumored beef — and what led to their collaboration on “Gyatt.”
“Um, what made me wanna squash it? It wasn’t a real beef to begin with, to be honest,” Ice Spice, 25, said.
She then went on to detail her experience making the music video for “Gyatt.”
“The whole video was so fun,” she recalled. “It was like, everybody was just joking around the whole time, to the point where, like, I remember my manager was like, ‘Can y’all wrap it up? Hurry up.’ It was really fun. Shoutout to Latto.”
Ice Spice and Latto, 27, released the song in September — and they lyrics found them seemingly making up after fans speculated they’ve had beef since 2023. In the cover art, the two rappers posed in a wrestling ring.
“I s— on hoes for sure, but I ain’t into the scat,” rapped Latto on the first verse, referencing Ice Spice’s 2024 single “Think U the S— (Fart),” which some listeners thought took aim at the “Big Energy” rapper.
“I turn around and thick s— has entered the chat, okay,” continued Latto, appearing to nod at Ice Spice (who often refers to herself as thick).
The rumored tension began because Ice Spice worked closely with Nicki Minaj in 2023, while Latto collaborated with Cardi B, who’s previously been at odds with the “Starships” rapper.
According to Complex, Ice Spice and Latto appeared to take subtle jabs at one another on social media around the time.

The alleged beef seemed to grow stronger after the release of Latto’s collaboration with Offset titled “Fine as Can Be” in October 2023. In the song, she seemingly referenced Ice Spice’s “Munch (Feelin’ U).”
“That n—- a munch/Yo’ bookin’ fee, ate it for lunch/I don’t do backends, need it up front/I’m big dawg, you bitches is runts,” Latto rapped. “Don’t pull wigs, don’t pull stunts/I pull triggers and I pull blunts/I pull cars like it’s Tonk/Bitch, you couldn’t top me in the bunk.”
In January 2024, Ice Spice appeared to diss Latto on “Think U the S— (Fart)” with a reference to the “Lottery” rapper’s Cardi B collaboration “Put It on da Floor Again.”
“I got my foot on they necks, I can’t let up/She all on the floor, told her get up,” rapped Ice Spice.
Ice Spice later shut down rumors of a feud with Latto in a July 2024 interview with Rolling Stone. “I feel like if we ever spoke and I asked her ‘What’s the issue?’ it’d be like a blank stare,” she said. “It’d really be no issue whatsoever. Especially from me.”
