Drake Maye is finding the positives after his Super Bowl 2026 loss.
While the New England Patriots quarterback wasn’t able to help his team score a victory at against the Seattle Seahawks during the Feb. 8 matchup, he credited head coach Mike Vrabel for his leadership, getting choked up while describing the 50-year-old’s vitality to the team.
“He was the heartbeat, no doubt about that,” Drake said during a post-game press conference. “He was a big reason why we’re here. He’s always the same and I look forward to my relationship with him for a long time.”
The 23-year-old added, “He’s a great person and a hell of a football coach.”
Still, the Seahawks’ 29-13 victory over the Patriots was a tough pill to swallow for Drake, who would have eclipsed Ben Roethlisberger as the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl had the faceoff unfolded differently. And he didn’t shy away from his feelings about the final score, telling reporters his team’s loss “definitely hurts.”
