Dove Cameron’s mother, Bonnie Wallace, couldn’t be happier about her daughter’s engagement.
Following the Jan. 3 news that the actress, 29, and Måneskin frontman Damiano David, 26, had gotten engaged, Wallace expressed her joy and excitement for the couple in a post on Instagram. Wallace shared a photo from their engagement, which saw Cameron (whose real name is Chloe Celeste Hosterman) and David in a heartfelt embrace.
“It’s with the greatest joy that I share the news that Chloe and Damiano are engaged!” Wallace wrote in the post’s caption. “I could not have imagined a more perfect, loving partner for my baby. They are wonderful together and my heart is so full. Welcome to the family, Damiano! 🥰❤️🍾🥂💍✨.”
Cameron’s older sister, Claire Hosterman, offered her own celebratory message in the comments of Wallace’s post: “So, so, so happy! I couldn’t imagine a more wonderful, kind, loving man for her. Welcome to the family, Damiano! ❤️🐝🌹🕊️✨.”
The actress shared the news of her and David’s engagement in an Instagram post on Jan. 3, including a pair of snaps of the couple at a party, plus an up-close glimpse of her engagement ring.
“My favourite part of being alive 💍 happy new year,” Cameron wrote in the caption.

In the post’s comments, her sister described David as “loving, honorable, healthy, safe [and] kind,” and “perfect” for Cameron.
Cameron and David, who were first romantically linked in September 2023, sparked engagement rumors in October 2024 when the pair were spotted in Sydney, Australia. During the outing, Cameron was seen with a sparkler on her left ring finger, per TMZ.

Around the same time, David and Cameron celebrated their two-year dating anniversary Oct. 9, which Cameron commemorated with a post on Instagram.
“the 2 best years of my life. i am brought to tears at least once a week because life has become so beautiful with you in it,” Cameron wrote in the post’s caption. “i love you in a way no words could ever express, but i will never stop trying. buon anniversario amore mio.”
In February 2025, Cameron reflected on her and David’s decision to make their relationship public. In a conversation with PEOPLE, Cameron shared that previous public relationships felt “like a scary thing to be really open about,” but ultimately they decided to go for it, she said.

“We had a conversation early on, because it’s a weird thing that you have to talk about,” she said of the decision at the time. “He was like, ‘If someone in high school, or who’s a lawyer, nurse or working at a coffee shop can post a picture of their partner and share the normal, beautiful parts of their lives, why should it be different for us?'”
Adds Cameron: “So it was like, ‘Why not be a little more normal about this? It’s a beautiful thing,'” she said. “It’s so beautiful to be in love.”
