Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, is making a rare red carpet appearance.
The 22-year-old posed at a screening of the movie Self Custoday on Friday, Jan 23, alongside director Garrett Patten and producer Fernando Ferro.
Wearng a red plaid overshirt for the occasion, Pax was spotted chatting to the men behind the drama, which stars Adrian Grenier, before heading to a party at the Park City, Utah, festival.
Pax has been exposed to movie-making since Jolie and Pitt adopted him in the early 2000s. As a child, he went to the 2018 Golden Globes and walked the red carpet at the world premiere of Jolie’s 2019 film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

He also made a cameo in Jolie’s 2014 film Maleficent and voiced the character of Yoo in his mom’s 2016 film Kung Fu Panda 3, but Jolie says her son is actually more comfortable behind the camera.
“None of my children want to be actors,” she told BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour in 2016. “I think they like the process of film from the outside.”
In 2019, she told Extra, “[Movies are] a part of their life. But it’s not important to them and a center of their lives in a way that’s unhealthy. It’s all fun.”
The Oscar-winner also noted to Women’s Hour that music may form part of Pax’s future. “They are actually very interested in being musicians,” Jolie said. “Pax loves music and deejaying,” she added.
Pax was born in Vietnam on Nov. 29, 2003, spending his early years at the Tam Binh Orphanage just outside of Ho Chi Minh City. Jolie adopted him in 2007, while Pitt later formally adopted their son in 2008, as regulations made it difficult for unmarried couples to adopt.

Pax joined his older brother Maddox, now 24, whom the couple had adopted from Cambodia in 2022, and his two younger sisters, Shiloh, now 19, and Zahara, now 21, who was adopted from Ethiopia in 2005. Then, in 2008, their household grew even more when Jolie and Pitt welcomed their twins, Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, now 17.
When Pax joined their clan, Jolie told MSN that he was a “tough, remarkable little person,” who was adjusting well.
In 2011, the family returned to Vietnam, with Jolie telling the Financial Times. “They are all learning about each other’s cultures as well as being proud of their own. They all have their flags over their beds and their individual pride.”
The Mr. and Mrs. Smith star — who was formally divorced from Pitt in 2024 — also told WSJ. Magazine in 2023, that her kids are her priority. “They are the closest people to me and my life, and they’re my close friends,” she said. “We’re seven very different people, which is our strength.”
