The actors playing the late John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette stepped out for the New York City premiere of Ryan Murphy’s new FX show Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette at the iconic Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Sarah Pidgeon wore an Art Deco-inspired dress, which featured a black diamond-beaded pattern and a black ribbon at the front, with a feathery white trim. Pidgeon, 29, whose previous credits include The Wilds and 2025’s I Know What You Did Last Summer, stars as Bessette.
Paul Anthony Kelly opted for a classic silhouette in a black suit and crisp white shirt, left unbuttoned and forgoing a tie. JFK Jr. is Kelly’s first major Hollywood role.

The show will follow the real couple’s whirlwind romance that captured the national spotlight since JFK Jr. was the only son of the late President John F. Kennedy. Since the couple married in a secret wedding in 1996, there has been an air of mystery about Bessette, who never gave an interview before she and JFK Jr. died in a plane crash near Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts in 1999.

In the recently released trailer for the show, which is inspired by Elizabeth Beller’s book Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, JFK Jr. (Kelly) is described as America’s “most eligible bachelor” after the nation watched the son of an assassinated president grow into a striking young man.
Meanwhile, Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon) was a confident and independent woman who rose through the ranks at Calvin Klein and quickly became a trusted executive to the designer himself.

Once the two are formally introduced, JFK Jr. cannot resist seeking out the beautiful fashion executive at her place of work — and thus the courtship begins. As Bessette fits him for a new suit, their connection is palpable in the recreated moment in the trailer.
