NEED TO KNOW
Jay Shetty is approaching 2026 with clarity, intention and a renewed sense of ownership.
The purpose-driven entrepreneur, former monk, and host of the hit podcast On Purpose has long encouraged audiences to live deliberately, but this year, he’s turning that lens inward.
After years of conversations with iconic guests from Michelle Obama to Jennifer Lopez, Shetty is refining what he wants to carry forward – and what he’s ready to leave behind. His focus isn’t about adding more to the list, but protecting what truly matters.
“In my own life, what I’m shedding is the outsourcing of things that are important to me,” Shetty tells PEOPLE exclusively.

For Shetty, that shift means reclaiming control over priorities that often get sidelined and passed on to other people.
“I think a lot of us outsource decisions around things that are really important to us or that we say are priorities,” only to realize those values “end up becoming at the bottom of the list by the end of the year,” he explains.
The 38-year-old life coach says he’s entering the new year focused on realignment, deliberately designing his days around his most meaningful “priorities.”
“What I’m taking into the New Year with me is making sure that my priorities are my priorities and that my life and my day and my weeks and my months and my year are structured around the things that I deeply believe and are important to me,” he emphasizes.

That intentional energy is also fueling the 2026 projects Shetty is most excited about, led by his new podcast Messy Love: Difficult Conversations for Deeper Connection.
His debut Audible Original is the first time Shetty is offering live coaching as content – guiding real couples through raw, unscripted relationship challenges.
“Messy Love is truly what I’m really excited about this year,” he tells PEOPLE, calling it “a big moment” where listeners can hear him share insights with “real couples in real life.”
As the series opens space for honest dialogue and practical tools around modern relationships, it also signals a broader year of meaningful work ahead.
“I think this is the thing I’m most excited about, and there’s going to be lots more exciting things throughout the year as well,” he teases.
