Tom Brady has “flipped the script” on Rob Gronkowski!
In a guest spot on The Today show on Thursday, Jan. 29, the former New England Patriots tight end said his friend and retired quarterback is “definitely” more fun now that he’s single.
“Here’s the problem, is we flipped the script,” Gronkowski, 36, told co-host Craig Melvin. “I was single when I first got into the league and Tom was married and I was like, ‘Hey, this guy’s lame. He’ll never go out with me.’ Now he’s going out every weekend and I’m at home with my girl.”
Brady, 48, was married to Gisele Bündchen throughout much of his tenure with the Patriots, while Gronkowski has been dating girlfriend Camille Kostek since 2015.
These days, the Fox Sports lead analyst is seemingly playing the field while spending plenty of time with his family.
Last month, the NFL legend reshared a post about “beautiful” people on his Instagram Stories just hours after he was spotted cozying up to influencer Alix Earle, 25, at a New Year’s Eve party in St. Barths on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

The photo read: “People are not beautiful for how they look or speak. They’re beautiful for how they love, care and treat others,” alongside an image of two monks smiling at each other and holding hands.
But in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE earlier this month, the former signal-caller said he doesn’t “have much time for a personal life.”
“You know what? I don’t have much time for a personal life or much time for myself, but I love working and I love my kids,” Brady told PEOPLE at the Fanatics Studios launch party in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Brady shares son Jack, 18, with ex Bridget Moynahan, and son Benjamin Rein, 16, and daughter Vivian Lake, 13, with ex-wife Bündchen.
“I like to be busy and try to really stay fulfilled in the things I’m doing, so I’m working on some really cool projects and I’m involved with some great teams of people that are doing some really positive things,” Brady told PEOPLE.
