Margot Robbie recently attended a Wuthering Heights-themed bachelorette party to mark the upcoming release of the film.
On the Monday, Jan. 26 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actress, 35, revealed that her friends threw her a fake bachelorette party for her character in the film, Catherine Earnshaw, which included a daring dress theme and a screening of the new film.
“I kind of thought it was a joke at first…I was like, ‘Wait, are we really gonna have a fake bachelorette for an imaginary character?’ And they were like, ‘Yes, absolutely,’ ” Robbie said while promoting Wuthering Heights, in which she stars and co-produced, on the show.
“…There was a moodboard. I was dressed in white corsets and lace, and they’re all dressed like Mob Wives in black lace and corsets. The theme, I think, was Victorian slutty,” she explained.
Robbie said she screened the film for her friends for the first time at the bachelorette party, which she described as “the most unhinged experience of my life.”
“It ended up being the craziest night ever, but the screening itself … 20 women were like frothing at the mouth,” she recalled. “They were like rabid dogs and they were a couple of drinks in already, and then the movie started and they were screaming so much.”
Robbie shared that her friends “miss[ed] most of the movie” as they kept fawning over her costar, Jacob Elordi, who plays her character Cathy’s lover Heathcliff in the film.
“Everyone’s wearing lace, corsets and veils, and drunk and screaming at the screen. And when Jacob came on screen, I think it registered on the Richter scale; they screamed so loud,” said Robbie. “Honestly, I was like, if he walked in right now, I think they would eat him. So it was safer that he wasn’t there,” she joked.

During her interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Robbie also recalled a fun drinking game she and her friends played at the bachelorette party.
“We played a drinking game throughout the film; everyone picked a word out of a hat and you had to drink when that word was said in the movie,” said Robbie. “And my friend who got the word Cathy — [Elordi] says Cathy like a thousand times in this film … so my friend Phoebe, she got ‘Cathy-ed.’ ”
Wuthering Heights is released in theaters on Feb. 13.
