NEED TO KNOW
The cause of death of YouTuber Adam the Woo has been revealed by his family.
Adam the Woo, whose real name was David Adam Williams, died suddenly at his home in Celebration, Fla., at the age of 51, on Dec. 22.
In a Facebook post shared on Monday, Jan. 26, Adam’s father Jim confirmed his cause of death as atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, which led to a “heart attack in his sleep,” following an autopsy report.
“The short answer is…natural causes,” Jim explained of Adam’s death. “… Our beloved son…your beloved friend…died, in essence, of a heart attack in his sleep from health issues he probably never knew he had.”

Despite the pain of losing Adam, Jim shared how “grateful” he was to have his son die in the circumstances that he did.
“Now, we can all stop guessing. Be grateful the Lord allowed him to die at home and not in a foreign country. Be grateful he was found by friends (as hard as that was) and not some nameless stranger,” said Jim, adding to fans, “…Thank you for loving Adam.”
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and hypertensive heart disease are closely linked conditions, where plaque buildup (atherosclerosis) narrows arteries, resulting in high blood pressure. Per Mayo Clinic, these conditions often co-occur, increasing risks for heart attack, stroke, and organ damage.
Adam was found dead in his Florida home on Dec. 22, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) previously confirmed to PEOPLE. TMZ first reported the news.

“The residence was secured, and no contact was made with the adult male residing there,” an OCSO spokesperson told PEOPLE. “Deputies then responded back to the location for an unattended death at 2:53 p.m. A friend had borrowed a ladder and looked in the 3rd story window to see a male on a bed that was not moving. Upon entering the residence with Fire Rescue, the male was reported deceased.”
