The punctuation in Harry Styles’ new album title is important.
The Grammy winner released the new single “Aperture” on Thursday, Jan. 22 as the first offering from his upcoming album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. In a couple of new interviews promoting the project, Styles shared his thoughts behind its title’s punctuation.
John Mayer spoke to Styles for a SiriusXM conversation and asked, “Are you going to be very strict about the punctuation in the album title? Will you be upset if a period isn’t there? If a comma is missing?”
The “As It Was” singer responded, “It’s a very important comma. I think it’s, like, the comma is correct.”
Mayer respected his choice. “It becomes conversational. So, journalists everywhere, please, please be mindful of the punctuation,” he said.
