Miley Cyrus is living the best of both worlds.
While celebrating her Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award at the 37th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday, Jan. 3, the singer, 33, teased the upcoming celebration for the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana.
Speaking to Variety on the red carpet, Cyrus was asked if she had any anniversary plans for the former Disney Channel series.
“Absolutely. We’re working hard on them,” she shared.
When pushed for more intel, the star playfully replied, “I can’t tell you,” before adding, “You see the bangs,” referring to her character’s signature hairstyle.
On the show, which debuted in 2006 and ran for four seasons, Cyrus played Miley Stewart, a teenager living a double life as a pop star named Hannah Montana. The franchise also included a movie, which was released in 2009.
The role catapulted Cyrus and led her to make history in 2024 as the youngest person ever to be named a Disney Legend, an honor bestowed on individuals who have significantly influenced the company.

In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio, Cyrus said she wanted to do something “special” for the show’s 20th anniversary.
“I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today. Without Hannah, there really wouldn’t be this kind of… this me,” she said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Cyrus said she was excited to “celebrate” the character that launched her career.
“It’s so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed,” she said. “And now that’s something that when I walk into a space, it’s looked at as this sense of nostalgia or something that you have from your childhood, but I’ve now been as kind of integrated into everyone’s life as the character itself. So that’s exciting to get to celebrate that.”

In 2024, while accepting her award as a Disney Legend, Cyrus spoke to the character and the show, saying, “A little bit of everything has changed … but at the same time, nothing has changed at all, I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana.”
The Grammy winner added, “In so many ways, this award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality. To quote the legend herself, ‘This is the life.’ “
