On September 29, the singer kicked off the release week of her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, while wearing an outfit that’s surprisingly easy to recreate. In the Instagram video, Swift directed her Showgirl persona while sporting an oversized blazer, a black tank top, and crossover waist wide-leg jeans — three polished staples that are so smart to have on hand throughout the year.

While their relaxed, wide-leg silhouette calls to mind styles we’ve seen on Joanna Gaines and Kate Winslet, the criss-cross waistband offers a trendy twist on typical jeans. I basically live in lightweight jackets and sweaters since they are easy to layer, which is why I’m stocking up on this closet essential — a basic black tank top — while it’s on sale. Not only does it resemble Swift’s easy outfit starter, thanks to its scoop neckline and sleek design, but it has also received more than 3,400 five-star ratings for its “soft and stretchy” feel and fit. “Perfect under a sweater or jacket,” one user enthused. “Hides the bra straps too!”
