The Cyrus family’s 2024 Christmas Eve was a night to remember.
Matriarch Tish Cyrus Purcell opened up about last year’s eventful holiday on a new episode of her Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast, sharing that she and daughter Noah Cyrus befriended an unhoused man, brought him a hearty dinner, and danced the night away together.
Tish, 58, said that last year, she spent Christmas Eve with Noah, 25, and Noah’s fiancé Pinkus. After making a turkey dinner, the trio decided to stop for ice cream at an ice cream truck in the Toluca Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. While there, they met an unhoused man named Benjamin.
“We asked if he had had Christmas dinner, or if he wanted an ice cream, and he said that he hadn’t had Christmas dinner and that he would also love an ice cream,” Tish recalled.
The group got Benjamin his ice cream, and Pinkus hung out with him while Noah and Tish headed back home to prepare a “huge plate of Christmas dinner.”
When Noah and Tish got back, the group found an open bar, and Tish bought everyone a round of champagne as Benjamin ate.
“We had the best time with this man. Him and I were dancing and drinking champagne. Pinkus was just in shock, but Noah went all in,” she said. “We were there ‘til like, 1 a.m. And then we wanted to make sure he had a place to stay, so we took him and paid for his hotel for the weekend.”

She continued, “It was honestly so good, and that makes me so happy to think about that. That was part of my Christmas last year, and it actually was really special. It was so much fun.”
Noah announced her engagement to Pinkus, a German fashion designer, in 2023. In April, she opened up about their relationship to PEOPLE, saying she’s “excited about everything and about our future.”
“My relationship now is a true partnership. It’s something that I hold really close to us — and also hold our privacy very close to us,” she said, adding, ”The journey of it all has been very beautiful, and something that I’m very happy with and very grateful for is our relationship.”
In November, the “I Saw the Mountains” singer explained why they haven’t yet tied the knot, saying that Pinkus is in the process of moving to the U.S. from Germany.
“It’s just a lot of moving parts of somebody moving their life from a different country, so we’re going through all [that] process,” she said on the Zach Sang Show.
Tish married actor Dominic Purcell in 2023. She’s also mom to daughters Miley, 33, and Brandi, 38, and sons Trace, 36, and Braison, 31, whom she raised with ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus.
