‘New Girl’ Star Zooey Deschanel Honors “Incredible” Costar Rob Reiner With Emotional Tribute
Zooey Deschanel is feeling Rob Reiner’s loss on a personal level.
One day after he and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14, the New Girl alum reflected on her bond with the late Hollywood icon, who played her dad on the Fox sitcom. And she didn’t hold back in detailing how “absolutely devastated” she was by the news.
“My heart is broken,” Zooey, 45, wrote in a post on Instagram Dec. 15. “Rob Reiner was the absolute warmest, funniest, most generous of spirits. A truly good human being. An incredible artist and such a playful and fun collaborator. I cherish the time we spent working together and the many films he made that have shaped who I am.”
Alongside a photo carousel featuring images of the two on the set of the series, the actress also paid tribute to Michele, whom Rob wed in 1989 before welcoming kids Jake Reiner, 34, Nick Reiner, 32, and Romy Reiner, 27. (He was also dad to Tracy Reiner, 61, from his marriage to Penny Marshall.)
