NEED TO KNOW
Sofronio Vasquez’s life hit a high note when he won season 26 of The Voice.
In December 2024, the Philippines native made history as the first Filipino singer to claim the top prize on the U.S. version of The Voice — a win that also marked coach Michael Bublé’s first-ever victory on the show.
“My Filipino brother, you are the hope of so many people … it has been such an unbelievable journey,” he told Vasquez during the finale. “I’m just so happy for you.”
Before dazzling audiences on The Voice stage, Vasquez was headed toward a very different career: dentistry. But after the heartbreaking loss of his father — the person who first sparked his love of music — he chose to honor his dad’s legacy by chasing his dream, ultimately moving to the United States to pursue a life in music.
The season 26 champion walked away with a $100,000 cash prize and a recording contract — and he’s been busy ever after. Vasquez has reunited with Bublé to create new music, including his song “Superman,” which he’s performing during The Voice season 28 finale.
So, where is Sofronio Vasquez now? Here’s everything the singer has been up to since he won The Voice.

Following his The Voice win, Vasquez announced a concert tour in February 2025. The 20-date run kicked off on March 15 and wrapped on October 18, taking him to cities across the U.S., as well as Canada, Dubai and the Philippines.
“Those international shows taught me so much,” Vasquez told the Asian Journal News in October 2025. “Music really does cross every boundary you can think of.”
He continued, saying, “I’ve watched people who don’t speak English connect emotionally with a song, and that’s powerful. Every country, every audience has given me something different.”

More recently, Vasquez sang the patriotic anthem at the NFL matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Commanders at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in October 2025.
