Aubrie Sellers is leaning into psychedelic rock on her latest song.
PEOPLE can exclusively premiere the country star’s latest single “Delusional,” which features Ashley Monroe.
The track, which features ethereal vocals and looping guitars amid a hazy retro soundscape, explores how dating can make you feel “delusional,” where you create your own reality.
“Maybe I’m delusional, but I want you,” Sellers sings on the chorus over a swirl of raucous guitars.

For Sellers, 34, “Delusional” is the “first and only” song she’s ever written with Monroe.
“We sat in her writing office, ordered food, and talked about poetry and being idealistic in love,” she tells PEOPLE. “I remember playing ‘Just Me and You’ by the Dreamliners, which got us into that dreamy, vintage, almost spooky headspace.”
According to Sellers, the track musically recalls The Moody Blues’ “Nights in White Satin” mixed with The Dreamliners and Ty Segall.”
Monroe, 39, tells PEOPLE she felt “free” writing and singing “Delusional.” ”

“We dove in and got all weird and goth and angelic, and I’m so proud of what we created,” she tells PEOPLE. “She is one of my very favorite voices to hear sing, and to get to sing with…Who says Delusional has to be a bad thing?”
“Delusional” follows Sellers’ most recent single “Villain of the Week,” a gritty, garage-rock anthem about the pitfalls of dating, which was released in October
In December 2019, Sellers spoke to PEOPLE about appearing in For the Record’s hit production of Love Actually Live in Los Angeles, which re-imagined the beloved holiday film’s hit soundtrack with an uber-talented cast and 15-piece orchestra.
For her role as Sarah, a sweet woman who pines for her handsome colleague while taking care of her brother, Sellers went through a hair transformation.
“I was totally down to be a blonde and wear a wig, but it has definitely convinced me to keep my dark hair,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “I feel like a completely different person in that hair and her clothes, and people are shocked when they see me after the show.”
