The British royal family has cemented Prince Andrew’s official removal from their ranks.
One day after Buckingham Palace announced King Charles III had stripped his brother of his remaining titles due to continued scrutiny over his association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew’s name has been removed from official royal family lists, including The Roll of the Peerage Oct. 31.
The document which is “an officially compiled and maintained list, intended to contain the names of all living peers” of the royal family had previously included Prince Andrew under “York,”—referring to his previously-used Duke of York title—per a screenshot obtained by the Daily Mail, though it now concludes with Prince William under “Wales.”
While Andrew, whose title is now simply Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, is still listed as part of the royal family on the British Royal’s official website, he was formally stripped of all royal titles by the king Oct. 30 and will be forced to vacate his home at the Royal Lodge on the Windsor Castle estate.
“These censures are deemed necessary,” the Buckingham Palace wrote in a statement, “notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”
