NEED TO KNOW
Madelein Perez and Luke Berry are married!
The 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise and 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way stars said “I do” last year on Sunday, Feb. 2, in Colombia — the same country where they met and fell in love. The newlyweds’ celebration aired on Monday night’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.
“It was incredibly beautiful to feel that we made it after a journey full of challenges, ups and downs,” Madelein exclusively tells PEOPLE. “Despite everything, we proudly made it and got married, and that meant everything to us.”

To ensure their wedding truly reflected their “dream,” Madelein was “deeply involved in every detail.” She planned the celebration almost entirely by herself — and spared no expense.
“It was extremely stressful because I’m a perfectionist and like to be involved in every detail, but in the end, it was a magical day where my dreams came true,” she shares.

Madelein made her grand entrance via helicopter, dazzling her 130 guests as she stepped out in a sparkling princess-style ball gown. She later changed into two mermaid-style dresses.
“From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to arrive at the altar by helicopter,” the TLC star says. “When I visited the property, I immediately fell in love, not only with how beautiful it was, but also because it had a helipad. That’s when I knew it was the perfect place for our wedding.”
When Luke laid eyes on Madelein, he was blown away.
“When I walked down the aisle and he saw me, it was an incredibly tender and sweet moment that we will always remember,” Madelein says.

After Madelein and Luke exchanged traditional vows, they headed to their purple-and-white-themed reception, where a three-course plated dinner, delicious dessert spread, and a five-tiered wedding cake with 3D figurine toppers awaited.
To Madelein, marriage represents “the seal of our love and of all the years we have shared together.”

The quality the newlyweds admire most in their relationship is their “nobility.”
“The pure way we love each other, and the deep respect we share,” Madelein says. “We admire how, even during difficult moments, we always choose love.”
The pair enter the next chapter of their relationship “with great excitement.”

“We are currently in the process of our K-1 visa and have already received our first approval, which fills us with hope and anticipation for what’s next,” Madelein shares.
New episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
